  • Provides assistance to review and evaluate cyber intelligence reports on new or evolving threats to the networks, open-source reports, and DNC-generated Incident Reports and Tippers as well as those generated by peer Computer Network Defense Service Providers (CNDSPs) and Intelligence organizations, maintaining a high level of understanding and awareness of the current threats to the networks with emphasis to those in the Directorate AOR.
  • Studies adversarial Computer Network Exploit (CNE) campaigns, behaviors, tactics, capabilities, maneuvers, motives, and intentions as related to network security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Applies an understanding of CNE, Computer Network Attack (CNA), and associated tools to obtain situational awareness of potential actors who might be targeting DoD.
  • Analyzes Intrusion Set Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and provides situational awareness of findings to other branch staff.
  • Assists in the determination and dissemination of domain, IPs, and correlation of intrusion sets and Law Enforcement/Counter Intelligence (LE/CI) activities.

Specialized Experience:

For the GS-12, at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-11 if outside the Federal service, is required.

Specialized experience is defined asproviding support to advanced threat analysis operations, cyber hunting activities, data and information correlations, technical and non-technical indicator development, and information sharing to enhance attack detection and mitigation tactics.

In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge, skills and abilities, or competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Applicants must describe how their experience meets the competencies within the body of the resume. No separate statements addressing KSA's or competencies are required.

Background or Security Investigation:

This is an Information Security (INFOSEC) position. In accordance with DoD 8570.1-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selectee must meet Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selected must meet Information Assurance Certification standards. Selectee must have an approved waiver prior to placement in this position or achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of IA duties. Level II certification is required prior to be authorizing unsupervised privileged access.

Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement.

This position is designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
