Software Development Group Leader

Your challenge:

As Software Development Group Leader in Philips OEM Sensor Business you will provide hands-on leadership to enhance the new product design capability and add a level of expertise that will result in shorter development time and leaner development processes. In this role, you may have influence on certain parts of the development policy and will also have responsibility as Designer.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead a Software Development and Validation & Verification (V&V) team of 5-10 people

  • Coach and motivate teams to remove obstacles in their way toward their goals

  • Visualize team and product metrics for the team and group/site management

  • Strengthen team culture and performance using a combination of training and digital and physical tools to help the team succeed and grow

  • Drive initiatives to increase engagement within the team

  • Be the owner of project planning and development process within the software and V&V domains

  • Create or support creating verification reports, validation reports, and other documentation to support the product development and design transfer processes

We are looking for:

  • A track record of delivering solid results

  • Experience in application of Agile principles, ideally Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

  • Experience in general management relating to teams and people – resource management, budget as well as knowledge management

  • Working knowledge of real-time embedded systems development, develop, test, and deploy application on custom hardware/devices

  • Experience in working in complex, rapid-moving projects

  • Passion for visualizing team progress and metrics

  • Passion for communications and transparency

  • Passion for making teams and individuals grow

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A good understanding of, and interest in, development of software through the complete lifecycle, in a controlled regulated environment

  • Working knowledge of C, C++ and/or C# with understanding of Object-Oriented concepts

  • Passion to establish and maintain continuous integration and test engineering systems to support the development, verification, and validation of medical device products and components

  • A great learning aptitude

  • Experience with software development concepts such as version control, issue tracking, requirements management

  • In-depth usage of Microsoft Project or other project planning tools, including agile tools (Kanban, SCRUM, SAFe)

  • In-depth knowledge of software and product verification and validation strategies, including test planning, methods and documentation

  • BS/MS/PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years in managing people and/or directing projects as project manager/program manager

  • Has ideally over 10 years of applicable experience
