Electrical Design Engineer – OEM Sensors

Your challenge:

As Electrical Design Engineer, you are responsible for electrical product design for OEM sensors as a member of the R&D team.

Your responsibilities:

  • Perform simulation, design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of embedded electronic assemblies as part of Product Development projects

  • Build prototypes and prove design feasibility, functionality and performance superiority over competitive solutions

  • Design and document the electrical design (i.e. drawings, schematics, experiments, changes, test results, data, PCB layout etc.)

  • Generate failure modes and effects analysis and a complete set of engineering drawings

  • Assist the engineering department in problem-solving related to electrical engineering matters

  • Prepare calculations, narratives, graphics, and design documents required throughout the development of the project

What we are looking for:

  • Solid understanding of the system development process including concept creation, schematics and board development, as well as board and system bring-up and debugging

  • Experience with the electrical design process from initial architecture through full production

  • Experience developing electrical designs including schematic capture, guiding PCB design, prototyping bring-up and debugging, hardware bug tracking, test plan creation, test plan execution, functional verification, signal characterization, and manufacturing support

  • Experience designing with ARM processors and various communication protocols (USB, SPI, I2C, UART, etc.)

  • Strong multidisciplinary collaboration experience (EE/ME/FW/SW)

  • Solid EE fundamentals and problem solving abilities in hardware

  • Hands-on experience in performing characterization of power, RF, and digital signal analysis for manufacturing margins

  • Experience with mixed signal simulation of analog, digital, and ABM circuits using PSpice based tools

  • Familiarity with computer system architecture & PCB layout using high-speed digital design rules

  • Experience designing for flex and FR4

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronics engineering. Master’s degree in similar fields preferred

  • Minimum 3 years, 5+ years of experience in related work preferred

  • Extensive experience in schematic capture (OrCAD preferred)

  • Solid OEM/ODM/CM experience

  • Experience working with layout engineers on flex and PCB’s (Mentor Xpedition Enterprise a plus)

  • Experience being a technical lead on an electrical engineering program

  • Experience with ensuring a highly reliable design (medical devices a plus)

  • Experience in FPGA design using VHDL/Verilog program language and simulation tools a plus

  • Demonstrable knowledge in RF radiation and EMC compliance a plus

  • Six Sigma (DFSS) certification Green Belt level with actual project experience applying the Six Sigma principals a plus
