The successful candidate will join our network team of 4. You will be responsible for maintaining, analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining the various telecommunications equipment located at our many locations across the USA. The Telcom Manager will work closely with the existing team as well as the business tofurther build out this environment as we grow. We are a close-knit and cross-functional team with IT colleagues located on both sides of the USA and in Europe. Avangrid Renewables is 24/7 and is headquartered in the heart of Portland, Oregon's Pearl District.
Work with the Network Team on the development of the overall network strategy, design, upgrades, deployment, retirement and troubleshooting of components
Responsible for architecting new integrations and deployments; working towards a global standard Troubleshooting phone
Work with vendor to help design and deploy a new Cisco VOIP solution
Order circuits through our partners and maintain relations with LECs
Documentation of network systems, Visio Drawings, implementation plans, and handoff documentation
Able to run, pull, terminate, punch-down, and splice cables as well as coodinating with contractors performing this work at our many locations
Will install telecommunications equipment and can program features as required by the busines.
Document activities in progress via periodic status reports, incident reports, logs, etc
Participate in an on-call schedule.
5+ years Telecommunications engineering, design, ordering, and troubleshooting
Hands-on experience managing or deploying Cisco VOIP solutions
Strong knowledge of OSI Model, Switching, IP Routing, IP Subnetting, TCP/IP protocol, IPSec, ACL’s, VLANs, WLANs, and structured cabling
know your basic 25-pair and 4 pair color codes
History of managing complex efforts with demanding customers
Able to lift 40 lbs.
Available for travel (20%)
Preference may be given to the following:
Working with NERC CIP standards
Understanding of SCADA LAN/WAN communication (OPC/DCOM)
Experience with SIP Trunking and similar technologies
Experience with Avaya IP Office
Proven customer service and communication skills
