Senior Chemical Dependency Counselor
FLSA Status: Full Time, Exempt
Department: CCCS of Orange County/Chemical Dependency Clinics
Reports To: Chemical Dependency Supervisor
Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes, may supervise chemical dependency staff as needed.
Summary: In the absence of the Clinic Supervisor, the Senior Chemical Dependency Counselor is responsible for ensuring the daily operations of the clinic. The Senior Chemical Dependency Counselor is responsible for managing and assisting in those aspects of client care including intakes, individual, group and family counseling. He/she is also responsible for the documentation of case records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Conduct intakes and individual counseling as assigned by the Supervisor.
Function as primary facilitator and/or co-facilitator in-group and family counseling.
Maintain caseload and client records.
Participate in supervision as required by the Supervisor.
Attend seminars and training as assigned by the Supervisor.
Provide office coverage when needed.
Attend external meetings as assigned.
Compile monthly statistics and related data.
Responsible for ensuring client fees are up to date.
Responsible for client scheduling and follow-up appointments.
Serve as lead team member and provides direction and support for clinical and administrative staff in the absence of the supervisor.
Assure all aspects of clinic services and staff scheduling are appropriately and adequately addressed in the absence of the supervisor.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position.

QualificationsEducation and/or experience required:
- LMSW or LMHC
Skills, Licenses, and/or competencies required:
One-three years’ experience in addiction field, or MA/MS or, CASAC plus three years’ experience.
Maintain full compliance with Federal confidentiality regulations governing substance abuse records as outlined in 42 CFR Part and with the Standards for Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information (45 CFR Parts 160 and 164).
