Description

A Heavy Equipment Operator with a valid Class A CDL License is needed who is skilled in the operation of the following types of equipment: directional drilling machine, backhoe, skidsteer, and trackhoe.

Work is performed under the guidance of a Foreman Operator assisting in the installation, alteration, addition, and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment on many types of projects.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Heavy Equipment Operator position include:

  • CDL licensed to drive a Class 3 truck

  • Operate Directional Drilling equipment

  • Operate Boom truck and Digger Derek truck

  • Operate Backhoe and Trackhoe at a high skill level.

  • Operate Skid Steer at a high skill level.

  • Operate Riding Trencher and small Rockwell at a high skill level.

  • Digs trenches by use of hand tools and equipment.

  • Keep equipment maintained daily.

  • Help in securing, relocating and organizing materials, small tools, and equipment from and back to appropriate storage areas.

  • Keep work area and equipment clean by collecting and disposing of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.

  • Keep equipment, tools and material clean and organized.

  • Assist in pulling wire, lifting, shoveling, raking, hoisting, and positioning materials.

  • May operate less complicated hand tools and equipment under direct supervision of a foreman or senior operator.

  • Assists in mounting strapping, placing and burying conduit.

  • Assists more senior personnel in less complicated electrical installations, connections, and terminations under close supervision.

  • DOES NOT WORK ON ENERGIZED CIRCUITS OR EQUIPMENT.

  • Read and interpret maps and instructional manuals.

  • Performs basic underground conduit installations under general supervision.

Qualifications

  • MUST have a valid CDL Class A or Class B license

  • Graduated from High School or obtained GED

  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and understand that we conduct pre-employment, post-accident and random drug testing.

  • Must have experience operating the types of equipment indicated above.
