Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, has need for a Construction Management Full-time Faculty, Requisition# 0089R, in the Applied Technologies DepartmentbeginningSpring 2017 Semester.We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated faculty member who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Faculty members are expected to teach courses such as Construction Methods and Materials, Construction Plan Reading, Construction Field Operations, Computer Applications in Construction, Construction Management, Construction Scheduling, Surveying, and Construction Estimating.

  • Faculty members are assigned a workload consisting of a standard minimum of thirty (30) equivalent semester hours per academic year.

  • A teaching schedule may include day or evening classes. Opportunities may exist for teaching summer classes.

  • Faculty members are expected to serve on department, campus, and College-wide committees, advise students, maintain an active program of professional development, participate in professional organizations and activities and act as a faculty advisor to student organizations.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required.

  • A minimum of five years of industry experience in construction management related fields.

  • Strong computer skills in the industry-related software such as: Timberline, MC Square, Primavera, On Screen Takeoff, BIM or Construction Administration are required.

  • Candidates must have a clear understanding of Montgomery College’s mission.

  • Candidates must be prepared to perform a significant role in program advising, community involvement/program promotion and industry outreach efforts.

  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree is preferred.

  • Knowledge of the Construction and Design industry, particularly as it relates to the Washington Metro area is preferred.

  • Evidence of industry-wide involvement /membership is preferred.

  • Previous teaching/training experience in a construction related field is preferred.

  • Experience or familiarity with distance learning methods and willingness to pursue training in this area is preferred.

  • Experience in working with students or student organizations is also preferred.
