Job Overview The Senior Windows Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing the design and operation of the customer’s computer network and has extensive knowledge, certification and experience with Windows operating systems. Specific job responsibilities include working on a small team of multi-tasking, quick-paced professionals who maintain the systems on which the collection processing and analytic processes occur. The applicant will be responsible for administering the Microsoft Windows storage area network (SAN) portion of the network. These include Domain controllers, Print Servers, DNS servers, Virtual Machines, Citrix VDI, EMC and NETAPP SANs, and other server based applications. Education, Certification & Minimum Experience Minimum 10 years relevant experience B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field Mandatory skills: On the job experience in providing IT support to include: Creating/deleting/resetting Windows domain accounts and passwords, Troubleshooting network and application issues, Granting/revoking application and shared folder access, Providing application support to MSWord, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Providing network printer support to include adding/removing/troubleshooting printers Demonstrated on the job experience with implementing network security and group policies On the job experience with planning, configuring, deploying automated software and firmware patch maintenance in heterogeneous operating system environments (Windows, Linux) such as WSUS, SCCM, YUM, Solar Winds, etc. Hands on experience in installing, configuring, deploying, administering cloud technology servers and services such as VMware, Hyper-v, Citrix, VDI, etc. Experience with large-scale data sensitivity and handling such as: creating, managing and securing LUNs on SAN technology such as EMC, Netapp, or Storage Tek Regarding SAN tasks, these include: Creating new LUNs, managing and monitoring SAN storage, allocating additional storage as needed. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Creating/deleting and resetting user accounts, Creating and/or updating domain wide policies in support of current information security regulations, Administering the server back-up systems, Responding to customer needs, examining server logs, installing or updating operating system software, Configuring DNS, applying hot fixes and patches, Reviewing server logs, creating/updating/deleting virtual machines. Experience installing, configuring, managing Active Directory and Group Policies a plus Good understanding of the customer organization’s goals and objectives Strong customer service orientation Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals Ability to conduct research into hardware and software issues and products as required Professionalism in appearance and work habits
