HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Stationary Engineer in Thornton, Colorado
Position Summary: Operates and maintains steam generating, air-conditioning and distribution systems in compliance with Denver code. Observes and adjusts equipment as necessary to maintain a comfortable environment. Regulate equipment to maximize energy savings. Test water and fuel, adjust chemical treatment, and perform preventive maintenance to keep readings at desired levels and extend life of equipment. Record readings, work requests and phone inquiries to provide a constant record of operations. Performs safety inspections of equipment to comply with City Codes and medical center regulations. Keep Plant and equipment clean and serviceable. Performs other duties as assigned.
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Stationary Engineer Certificate issued by the City and County of Denver Building Inspection Division is preferred.
C. Experience: Four years experience high pressure boiler and mechanical refrigeration systems operation.
D. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to operate and repair steam-generating and air-conditioning systems and supporting equipment. Ability to perform preventive maintenance and appropriate testing procedures. Ability to assess and promptly respond to mechanical failures. Ability to interact with medical center personnel and outside services and inspectors.
III. Degree of Supervision Required: Performs essential functions without constant supervision, alerts Supervisor and Director of problem areas and unusual events.
