City of Temple, TX Treatment Chief of Operations/Water Treatment in Temple, Texas
Under the general direction of the Deputy Utility Director, the Treatment Chief of Operations is responsible for the safe and adequate delivery of high quality drinking water. Duties will include supervisory work involving the safe and reliable operations of both water treatment plants, water booster pump stations, system storage tanks, and maintenance programs. Daily contact with the public requires courtesy and diplomacy. The Treatment Chief of Operations is responsible for compliance with all aspects of State and Federal regulatory standards related to the treatment and distribution of drinking water.
A TCEQ Class “B” Surface Water license is required and must upgrade to an “A” water license within one year from the date of employment. Requires a minimum of eight years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of surface water plants, multiple booster pump stations and water storage tanks, plus two years of administrative and supervisory responsibilities. Must have management skills permitting the solution of highly complex as well as routing work problems. Must possess strong leadership, management, interpersonal, and communication skills; supervisory experience including the principles necessary for successful business management are required. A valid Texas drivers’ license is required. Must live within a thirty minute travel response time and be able to respond to emergency situations as the need arises. Punctuality and regular attendance are also required.
