Hydrasearch is looking for a Quality Specialist to join its team in Stevensville on Maryland's eastern shore. The *Quality Specialist will be responsible for all phases of qualityin an ISO 9001:2008 manufacturing company. This is a hands on Quality role. Applicant should have 3 or more years of Quality experience. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math or Material Sciences and have ASQ certifications in CQA and CQI*

The Quality Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Hydrasearch Quality program under the guidance of the Quality Manager. Maintains the quality and consistency of the organization's products. Reviews quality standards, tolerances, and engineering changes. Investigates and analyzes quality problems, recommends solutions and ensures corrections are made. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering physics, math or material sciences required. ASQ certifications in CQA and CQI are required or you must be able to pass these certifications. This candidate needs to also have the knowledge of quality functions in an ISO registered manufacturing environment
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answering technical questions from internal and external customers
- Inspecting manufactured parts for quality
- Maintain and ensure compliance to SOP's.
- Participate in internal and vendor audits
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office
- Manage corrective actions
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Ability to read blue prints and mechanical drawings
- Ability to competently use measuring equipment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to review contract to validate product conformance to end user/government requirements
- Ability to work with office and shop personnel on compatibility of production process, etc.
- Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Self-structured, flexible team player
