Job Description

Jack Henry and Associates' Legal department is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to office out of Springfield, Missouri or Lenexa, Kansas.The position will entail representation of the Company in business transactions and advising management concerning legal rights, obligations, and privileges.

If working out of the Lenexa office, you will be required to travel to Springfield, MO for training periodically during the first 6-12 months.


  • 8+ years of transactional (negotiating/documentation) business law experience.

  • Possession ofa Missouri or Kansas law license that is in good standing.

  • Juris Doctorate degree /Doctor of Jurisprudence degree.


  • Experience in technology transactions such as software licensing and contracting for data processing services.

  • Experience in banking law, compliance, international law, outsourced practice and transactions, and/or intellectual property.


  • Negotiates and documents software and data processing transactions with financial institution customers.

  • Prepares, reviews and negotiates various other legal instruments and documents, such as contracts, leases, licenses, purchases, sales, real estate, employment, insurance and other agreements.

  • Advises Company concerning transactions with customers, vendors and business partners.

  • Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization.

  • Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations, and advises officials on tax matters, government regulations, and/or legal rights.

  • Reviews and advises company on statutes, decisions, ordinances, and proposed and existing legislation.

  • Provides legal advice with respect to administration, and prepares resolutions and forms.

  • Acts as agent of the company in various transactions.

  • Applies project management skills to meet deadlines and complete multiple and complex projects.

  • Designs and implements legal processes for handling of legal transactions and matters.

  • Manages and works with legal support personnel to handle routine matters.
