Electronics Lab Technician / Subject Matter Expert - Charleston, SCN/a, SC, US
Job Description Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Direct and lead the work of others. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Support Air Traffic Control (ATC) Lab functions at local DoD facility, to include RF Communications Systems, Voice Switch, STARS, TPX-42, and OD-58 indicator equipment maintenance.
Provide leadership for electronics repair, installation, maintenance, and check-out. In addition to the maintenance and upkeep of electronic systems locally, responsibilities will include traveling to various military facilities on short notice to troubleshoot and repair systems, when warranted. Develop detailed status reports on troubleshooting efforts and repair methods utilized. Provide training to end-users as necessary.
Required Skills - Active Secret clearance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Possess 15 years of hands-on experience: 6 years of experience in supervision and shop practices, 7 years of practical experience in electronics installation, 10 years of experience in the field of ATC equipment and systems (preferred).
- Possess 15 years of hands-on experience with electronic systems/communication systems including 3 of the following areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, and/or Training (preferred).
- Formal training in the following shore ATC equipment systems: STARS, TPX-42, and OD-58. Training must be from the equipment manufacturer, Department of Defense (DoD), or Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
- Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Possess strong organizational skills.
- Ability to travel as necessary.

Department Our services in the Defense business unit support all branches of the U.S. military and the intelligence community. Our teams provide a variety of support services related to the maintenance and life cycle sustainment of US Navy, US Coast Guard and Customs and Border Patrol fielded C5I systems.
