Job Description You will staff the network operations center at the GDOT Project Maintenance Office in Smyrna, Georgia. Responsibilities include data entry and/or analysis, remote troubleshooting and operational verification of ITS devices, work order entry/processing/completion, operational status changes of devices as reported/requested by subcontractor and/or GDOT personnel, report creation & upkeep, warehouse responsibilities including asset management, organization, parts/materials check-in/check-out, and inventory tracking.

Serco monitors and maintains GDOT's statewide ITS infrastructure. Through subcontracts and self-service, this project strives to maintain the highest possible operational availability of ITS devices. The Network Operations Center is responsible for the monitoring and dissemination of trouble/work tickets to in-house staff and subcontractors. You will create work orders/tickets and route them through to completion following remote troubleshooting and/or verification of device operability.

Required Skills A high school diploma or equivalent plus 2-5 years related experience. Strong technical skills are a must, and a basic understanding of remote troubleshooting/diagnosis of electronic systems will be required. Asset management and inventory tracking is also required including the ability to lift, assign, and organize/manage inventory items. Familiar with computer information technology including computers, web based applications (generic), shell applications (command prompt, putty, and/or Linux shell), and office productivity products such as Microsoft Office.

Department The Transportation & Infrastructure business unit has four main business streams - surface transportation, aviation, fleet maintenance and infrastructure services, with over 1000 personnel providing these services in the federal, state and local markets. Our transportation surface and infrastructure business includes traffic control centers, intelligent system specification, deployment and maintenance, traveler information systems, back office capabilities, program management, congestion management and general operations. Our business with state and local governments include parking management systems and technicality upgrades and parking enforcement. In addition we provide fleet maintenance services to a number of public utilities and municipal authorities.
