You will report to
Design Center Manager
You will be
designing and realizing design solutions, on basis of the agreed upon design brief and on professional orientation, in delegated contact with the business colleagues and in close consultation with global creative lead and design business partner
working within the context of the given Philips Design policy with a high level of independence
participating in defining the briefing for the projects to be handled by you
participating together with the project/program manager/creative lead / art director in defining way of working and budget for projects
preparing specifications for internal and external services
preparing and maintaining the relevant documentation
assuming responsibility for an identifiable portion of the portfolio
You will work with
an internal team of Designers & Project Managers to balance all delivery in terms of quality, time & money.
designers within your area (product designers, graphic designers, VTA designers, product graphic designers)
specialists within and outside Philips Design
business partners like Consumer Marketing Management and Developers

Analytical & conceptual skills:

Visual design skills:
You use appropriate and effective visual design skills to articulate simplicity across products, supporting business needs and increasing NPS.
Use appropriate skills (sketching, 3D modelling, rendering) to define and communicate product concepts.
Create effective and appropriate visual languages by understanding the meaning and effect of these on the brand, audience, market and culture.
Functional design skills:
You use appropriate and effective functional design skills to articulate simplicity through function, interaction, manufacture, materials and finish - supporting business needs and increasing NPS.
Create functional product concepts that appropriately address the user-context requirements. Apply and define (general) interface and interaction principles. Define and apply general usability principles (in partnership with Interaction Design)
Define technical opportunities and constraints and apply appropriate production technology, materials and finishes (in partnership with Concept Prototyping & IP, VTA, etc.).
Communicating & influencing skills:
Uses appropriate and effective communicating & influencing skills to build relationships with teams and key decision makers and achieve the best solutions.
Communicate ideas clearly and persuasively at an individual and group level.
Build relationships and appropriately influence relevant internal & external stakeholders.
Bachelor or Master Degree in product design.
- years' relevant experience in one or more specific business domains and in one or more markets and cultures. You have worked in multidisciplinary teams and partnered with specialists of other design disciplines in order to develop fully integrated new propositions from start to end.
You are interested in the field of Lighting products and habits or have even already experience in designing for this market.
Updated knowledge and insight into the latest (market) trends and developments within (product) design.
Good analytical & conceptual skills in order to increase domain knowledge, to create relevant insights and to create meaningful and innovative solutions.
Your design skills help you to articulate meaningful products through form, function, interaction, manufacture, materials and finish. You create functional product concepts that appropriately address the user-context requirements. And you are able to create effective visual languages by understanding the meaning and effect of these on the brand, audience, market and culture.
