Job Description

Jack Henry is seeking an experienced Accountant II. This position will assist in accounting and the financial planning for the department including month-end closing, processing journal entries, and GL reconciliations. This is a fast paced environment in which you will work on numerous accounting projects at once. This position will require you to communicate with other accounting associates, as well as mid and possibly senior level managers.


  • Bachelor’s degree Accounting.

  • Minimum of 3 years of ‘hands on” accounting experience in relationship to month end closing, journal entries, etc. using GAAP and other accounting principles.

  • Proficient skills using Microsoft Excel to work with pivot tables, formulas, V-lookups.


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a public company environment.

  • Effective communication skill both written and verbal.


  • Responsible for accounting and planning activities for a Jack Henry & Associates department.

  • Participate in daily settlement duties.

  • Applies company policies and procedures to assist other team members with daily questions and issues.

  • Performs general ledger coding.

  • Reconciles general ledger accounts.

  • May provide work direction, technical assistance, and answer questions for less experienced accounting staff.

  • Developing professional expertise. Works on non-complex to moderately complex projects. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practice.
