Within the Corporate Support Unit CFO Team, responsible for providing Financial Business Partner support to the assigned Line of Business or Support Unit team. Functions will include planning and budgeting activities, management reporting, variance analysis, and other ad hoc projects as assigned. This role will produce and deliver financial analysis to Management at all levels of the organization, as well as direct the activities of assigned junior staff.
General Duties – Provides comprehensive and complex financial analysis and manages all aspects of the assigned Line of Business or Support Unit budget and forecast, including the following:
Prepares and provides complex analytical and financial reports and presentations; presents and provides recommendation to Sr. Management.
Requires knowledge of financial applications within FP&A and has an understanding of the data relations and interdependencies.
Develop, interpret, and implement financial concepts for planning and control.
Work collaboratively across all other Support Unit CFO teams as well as with the Corporate FP&A teams, identifying best practices and process efficiencies.
Within the Support Unit, track staffing positions by department – filled, open, and transfers; oversee all contract labor requisition submissions and departmental expense.
Direct monthly round-table discussions with the various Controller teams and perform variance analysis related to budget/forecast versus actuals.
Direct review and challenge sessions with department heads; identify and track cost saving opportunities.
Aggregating and consolidating the results; reconcile results with the Bank’s general ledger and ensuring data quality issues are addressed and resolved.
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree with 7 years of experience; experience in Finance, Management Accounting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Advanced understanding of: Banking products & financial statements, Transfer Pricing and Risk Management including cash flow analysis, Performance Measurement or Profitability measurements, Union Bank’s products, balance sheet, and income statement. Strong Financial and Risk Management analytical skills. Advanced modeling experience; Understand Database Structure and various database tools. Strong presentations & written communication skills. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Access, PowerPoint; ability to model and create complex spreadsheets, look up tables, pivot tables; able to create and run SQL commands and understand/analyze the results. Advanced skills in data analysis and design, and data mapping. Detail oriented with the ability to work efficiently and independently with little supervision. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under time pressure and handle multiple tasks/projects at the same time. Problem resolution experience requiring strong analytical skills, sound judgment and ability to work effectively with clients and technical staff.
