Employment Status:Full-time, temporary, "exempt" position.

Regular Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Typical Activities

Under direct supervision of the Associate Dean, the incumbent will keep the Associate Dean's calendar and coordinate and facilitate a large volume of meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements, including monitoring of reimbursements and follow-through on pending deadlines and appointments. The incumbent will prepare correspondence, edit, and proofread to produce print, digital, video, web, and social communications for targeted internal and external audiences; collaborating with various constituencies on the theme, design and content of print, digital, video, web, and social communications to maximize impact; participating in the ongoing management of the campus web-site; and developing, researching and positioning stories including conducting interviews and creating story content and layout. Coordinate the blogging for the Office of the Associate Dean (Academic Innovations and Collaboration) & Center for Global Management. Support Strategic Communications for Quarter to Semester conversion (Q2SC). The incumbent will develop strategies to promote the image of the College academic innovations by using market research data to determine the most effective techniques and approaches for reaching target audiences; identifying the needs and interests of various constituent groups; translating the results of research into strategic communication efforts including selecting the best medium to achieve goals; creating marketing programs to better position the office of the Associate Dean (Academic Innovations and Collaborations) and Center for Global Management to achieve strategic goals. Designing, organizing and promoting various transdisciplinary events and campaigns – including study abroad - to promote the strategic initiatives for the Office of the Associate Dean (Academic Innovations and Collaboration) and the Center for Global Management, targeted at students, faculty, and staff, as well as alumni and partners in the community. Support transdisciplinary marketing and events for Q2SC. The incumbent will lead media relations and efforts targeted at building and mobilizing academic collaborations around innovative centers of excellence and scholarship for the college, engaging relevant industry and other partners in the community, as part of the office of the Associate Dean and the Center for Global Management. Support community relations and collaborations for Q2SC. Lastly, other responsibilities assigned by the Supervising Manager, including taking minutes, preparing forms, and organizing communication in and for meetings and Q2SC committees.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, along with required five years of experience in general office clerical work which has provided the ability to independently initiate, draft, and prepare correspondence and reports in error-free English. Applicants must have experience working effectively under constant interruptions and deadlines. Applicants must have good interpersonal and communication skills, along with excellent customer service skills. Applicants must be able to demonstrate strong communication, editing, and computer skills. Applicants must possess a thorough mastery of English, grammar, spelling and punctuation, along with a thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures and practices. Applicants must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with PeopleSoft, Concur travel and HR module is beneficial. Applicants must possess the ability to be a team player, along with the ability to handle sensitive interactions/situations. Applicants must possess the ability to interact tactfully, diplomatically and positively with faculty, staff, students, administrators and members of the outside community. Applicants must possess the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with a diverse group of individuals. Applicants must demonstrate and successfully ensure a high level of confidentiality and the utmost of integrity in all areas of this position.
