Under the direction of the director of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship, the incumbent will work independently in providing overall delivery of Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE) programs including, but not limited to the Women's Business Center, Small Business Development Center, Catalyst Business Accelerator & Fast Pitch Competition, and provide leadership in developing new program initiatives that are critical to helping meet the IECE's mission.

The incumbent will be responsible for programs achieving key objectives, determining priorities and developing and implementing innovative new program approaches. Also, the incumbent will set new and expanded program goals that are developed independently, develop new opportunities to grow IECE program both on campus and in the community.

The incumbent will oversee the budget for the aforementioned programs and monitor the progress of funds and submit reports to the IECE Director and College of Business and Public Administration (CBPA). This task is important to provide accountability and reporting to funding source and ensure all expenditures are consistent with program guidelines. The incumbent will use the existing IECE financial dashboard tracking system along with CBPA accounting system to track progress.

The incumbent will independently oversee existing IECE programs and projects (e.g. Fast Pitch Competition, Spirit Awards) and develop new programs, ensure program quality and consistency and work to increase business involvement and sponsorship for programs.

The incumbent will be responsible for taking the lead on developing IECE fund raising plans to meet program revenue goals and implement new program initiatives; includes preparation of grants and proposals, developing new relationships with outside entities and organizations and maintain existing partner relationships.

The incumbent will develop a plan of action to identify potential donors and institutional funding sources and then engage them to secure the capital. The incumbent will be expected to network in the community to identify and work with potential funding sources.

The incumbent will develop and coordinate projects and activities for entrepreneurship students including but not limited to professional development, entrepreneurial mentoring & internships, consulting projects, etc., deliver social media marketing and branding for IECE, including development of pertinent marketing materials and perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess the equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a related field, along with the equivalent to five years of professional experience in the areas of small business ownership/management, economic development or academic program management, preferably in the area of business/entrepreneurship. Applicants must have a working knowledge of general accounting along with knowledge of administrative principles, practices and methods. Applicants must have budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and reporting, and analytical skills along with a demonstrated record of accuracy. Applicants must also have well-developed problem solving and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated fundamental writing and presentation skills to effectively communicate standard reports and information are required along with the ability to develop creative solutions to a variety of problems addressed. Applicants must possess a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people within and outside of the college and serve as a liaison to the College of Business and Public Administration. Applicants must possess a general working knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies and procedures along with the ability to apply independent judgment, discretion and initiative to address routine problems. Applicants must be proficient in computer software such as MS Office applications, especially MS Excel.

Preferred Experience: A Master's degree is preferred. Experience in PeopleSoft is desired.
