Description of Job Duties

Marketing and Outreach: Will coordinate outreach and build and foster relationships with key Rural Business Programs (RBP) stakeholders: Texas Rural Challenge (TRC) steering committee members, state and federal agencies; state associations; legislators; regional SBDCs; Texas Association of Regional Councils of Government; Texas Economic Development Council, Office of the Governor, Texas Workforce Commission, US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Association of Rural Communities in Texas (ARCIT); and private sector partners;

Assist director and project managers with marketing, branding, coordinating, planning and scheduling Municipal Capacity Building Program (MCBP).

Will work closely with Institute for Economic Development (IED) Communications Coordinator to promote and market the RBP services and the TRC;

Project Planning: Will be responsible for aspects of planning, coordinating, managing and implementing RBP training events: Municipal Capacity Building Program (MCBP); the TRC statewide conference and webinars;

Project Funding: Will assist director Identify grant funding opportunities for the RBP and be the lead on developing funding proposals.

Assist RBP community clients with identifying grants for their respective community projects.

Assist director in identifying corporate sponsors for the TRC and MCBP professional development series.

Project Administration: Will be responsible for developing annual training budgets, financial reports and close-out reports for each training event. Make recommendations for measuring impact of training and improving the delivery of our training.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
