General Statement of Duties: The CT/MRI Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a high standard of work in the CT/MRI imaging section(s); efficient operation, supervision, instruction and assignment of duties of the employees and ensuring the highest level of care is given to all patients; for the ordering and keeping in stock the necessary items. He/she supports the performance of all procedures and quality control of the CT/MRI areas.
Essential Job Functions: 1. Supervises assigned personnel and is responsible for effectively and efficiently staffing the imaging section(s). Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. 2. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of the following equipment: CT Scan, power injectors, stereotactic biopsy equipment, biopsy drainage needles/devices, Magnetic Resonance Imaging positioning, procedures preparation and technical factors associated with MRI systems. 3. Maintain clean, stocked inventory and equipment service records. Works with vendors to ensure optimum uptime of equipment in section(s). Schedules preventive maintenance and emergency maintenance without disrupting patient care. 4. Ensures efficient workflow in the section by getting patients started on time and keeping room turnaround time to a minimum. Organizes work in such a way that the structure responds quickly to changes in workload. 5. Supervises personnel to include interviewing, work allocation, orientation and training, staff development, problem resolution, evaluating performance, making recommendations for personnel actions, and motivating employees to achieve peak performance. 6. Must be able to complete assignments independently and to work as part of a team; to take instructions from supervisors; to exercise problem-solving skills; and to interact with co-workers, supervisors, patients, vendors and the public in a professional and pleasant manner.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics: 1. Education: Must have ONE of the following: A. Radiologic Technology certificate of training B. MRI program certificate of training C. Associates of Science or higher degree in radiologic technology 2. Experience: 2 years MRI and/or CT technologist experience 3. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable). 4. Preferred: One year CT/MRI supervisory experience
Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required: 1. Current Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification from Texas Department of Health AND 2. Maintenance of ONE of the following by October 1, 2012: a. Advanced certification in CT or Magnetic Resonance Imaging [American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT (CT) or (MR)] b. American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology (ARMRIT)
