Since 1981, Independence Center has focused on providing programs and services that assist adults in the St. Louis metropolitan area with serious and persistent mental illnesses to live and work in the community, independently through rehabilitation, employment, education, social and housing opportunities. In collaboration with Barnes-Jewish Hospital and BJC HealthCare, the Center also provides clinical, case management and partial hospitalization services.

Role Purpose

Responsible for providing direct service to members/clients of Independence Center programs including housing, employment, vocational, community support and supported living services.


  • Assesses, plans and coordinates services in area of expertise.

  • Collects data around projects and services in area of expertise, and makes suggestions for improvement or enhancement of current services..

  • Answers questions and provides information and education to internal and external customers.

  • Fulfills all documentation requirements for quality, accuracy, and timeliness.

Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree

    • Education/Psych/Social Work

Supervisor Experience

Licenses & Certifications

  • Automobile Liability Insurance

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Licensed/Registered vehicle
