Role Purpose

Provides strong leadership and direction on a daily basis to staff within the Peri-operative Support Services departments to promote vision of providing world class surgical services. On a daily basis the Director Support Services is responsible for assuring that support services are provided to promote timely, high quality and efficient surgical care. Provides leadership related to quality improvement and performance improvement efforts within areas of responsibility and promotes positive, collegial relationships among all staff within Peri-operative Services.


  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.

  • Provides direction and support to peri-operative support service departments.

  • Translates surgical case volume projections into demand projections for support departments. Develops and oversees implementation of operating plan for Support Services departments to meet the needs of Support Service customers.

  • Oversees development and provision of required decision support tools.

  • Oversees development and provision of effective information systems.

Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree

    • Business


  • 2-5 years

Supervisor Experience

  • 2-5 years

Preferred Requirements


  • Master's Degree
