Provides leadership and strategic direction for all aspects of quality management with St. Louis Children's Hospital. Has oversight responsibility for Quality Management, Patient Safety, Clinical Effectiveness, Process Improvement, Medical Informatics, Regulatory Compliance, and the Quality Improvement Representative Council. In addition, provides administrative support to the graduate medical education programs supported by St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
Directs overall operations of quality management, patient safety, clinical effectiveness, process improvement, and other related areas. Sets strategic direction and ensures necessary resources are in place to support departments' goals.
Analyzes relevant data and trends to develop a comprehensive strategic quality plan that supports the goals and objectives of the organization's mission and vision.
Supports management decision-making and organizational performance improvement by directing the development and design of measurement systems, conducting statistical analyses, and providing technical support to process improvement initiatives.
Provides administrative support to residency training programs.
Serves as HIPAA officer for staff, parents, and visitors, for receiving, investigating, and tracking reported violations. Ensures training for staff, performs/coordinates audits to ensure BJC HIPAA and regulatory agency compliance.
