Utilizes clowning and the associated skills to address the social and emotional needs of patients and families who receive services at the hospital.
Fosters appropriate independence and feelings of competency by utilizing age appropriate activities in which the patient is capable of participating.
Encourages expression and a sense of control for patients by allowing appropriate choices of activities during individual visits.
Consults with patient unit's Child Life Specialists to determine appropriateness for individual visits and aspects of patient care to include during interaction.
Demonstrates and advocates for family-centered care.
