Job Description The Soldier for Life – Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) delivers a world-class transition program that ensures all eligible transitioning Soldiers have the education, training, and counseling necessary to be career–ready when they leave active duty service. SFLTAP helps Soldiers make informed career decisions through benefits’ counseling and employment assistance. Active or Reserve Component Soldiers with 180+ days of continuous active duty service, and Family members are eligible to receive SFL-TAP services one year prior to separation or two years prior to retirement. Department of the Army Civilian employees and their Family members are eligible up to their transition date. Duties include:

Administrative Support: Identify, plan, organize, research, collect, analyze, conceptualize and interpret information from a variety of sources to solve problems and develop strategic plans and support to the installation; conduct studies, collect data, review reports and workload and perform analysis of other empirical data; perform trend and change analysis, conduct reviews, identify problem areas, forecast probable effects of change, interpret policies effects on programs, and support development of recommendations for consideration by Transition Division; collect, verify, analyze and interpret transition and papers, briefings, graphs, memos, charts and other papers to provide a basis for management decisions and program objectives; provide administrative and staff support for the execution and implementation and provide analysis of data captured at job fairs, employment summits, virtual hiring events, and career days to provide the government with feedback about numbers of employers, participants, persons interviewed, persons given firm offers of employment, and persons hired.

Program Support: Prepare post-command level briefings based analysis of gathered data (monthly) and upload/monitor data in the IMCOM knowledge management portals; coordinate a collaborative public affairs and marketing effort between the Transition locations, VA, the DOL, and other stakeholders for upcoming job fairs, employment summits, virtual employment events, and conferences at the installation and local level; ensure that all SFL TAP hosted job fairs are coordinated with the SFL TCAT office; provide administrative and staff support and support preparing the Soldier for locally sponsored Job Fairs, employment summits, virtual hiring events and Career Days; coordinate and execute set-up and removal of exhibits and booths at approved events in the local area; monitor execution and implementation of questionnaires disseminated at the beginning, conclusion (exit) and post (follow-up) of transition services Travel: Travel may be required in order to accomplish mission goals to include evenings and weekends with the ability to use all modes of transportation. This position requires access to US Government facilities and systems. US Citizenship, a valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation to travel to assigned locations and nearby facilities is required, along with flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed in order to properly serve and assist clients.

Required Skills --Requires High School Diploma plus two to three years’ professional experience administrative/clerical, program support, and education/transition services

--Applicants must hold an Active Secret Clearance and also successfully undergo a background investigation

--This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Serco to staff it only with U.S. Citizens

--Two years of experience in Military lifestyle through personal and/or professional experience with Military personnel and Military Family members highly desired, along with in-depth understanding about the Military culture and the Command structure

--Requires skill using appropriate software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Access, Outlook, and Power Point as well as data collection programs and basic automated skills

--Must have ability to manage multiple priorities, illustrate attention to detail, and show evidence of being conscientious regarding deadlines

--Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required

Department Our services in the Defense business unit support all branches of the U.S. military and the intelligence community. Our teams provide a variety of support services related to the maintenance and life cycle sustainment of US Navy, US Coast Guard and Customs and Border Patrol fielded C5I systems.
