SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
*1. Responsible for maintaining appropriate staffing for the department through rehabilitation staff recruitment, development, supervision and productivity management.
*2. Manages daily operations of rehabilitation services.
*3. Works to improve financial performance of department including effective planning and meeting operational budget targets.
*4. Responsible for department performance improvement programs including customer service for all groups served by the department.
*5. Ensures department’s policies and practices meet all current applicable regulatory requirements (State licensure, HCFA, TJC, CMS, etc.) and hospital policies.
*6. Provides clinical direction for the department, including direct patient care, as needed.
*7. Responsible for program development including planning, implementation and assessment of strategic plan to improve quality and viability of services.
*8. Demonstrates leadership in the professional development of self and others.
*9. Effectively communicates and coordinates services with internal and external customers.
Required– 5 years total work experience, 3 of which are in one of the clinical service areas provided by the Rehabilitation department. Graduation from accredited school of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology. Possession of valid Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech-Language Pathology licensed to practice in Virginia. Preferred– In addition to the above, will possess advanced education, training, or experience in health care management or administration.
