  • Virginia Transplant Center The Central Sterile Technician II will perform duties under the direction of the Central Sterile Nurse Manager and Central Sterile Supervisor. The Central Sterile Technician is:

  • Responsible for preparing OR surgical case carts, decontamination, assembly and sterilization of reprocessable supplies, equipment and surgical instruments in compliance with good hospital practice standards under direct or indirect supervision.

  • Responsible to know all modalities of sterilization as well as monitoring of the sterilization process.

  • Required to work between all processing areas as well as rotate to all shifts and work holidays and weekends.


  • High School Graduate or equivalent (required)
  • Sterile Processing Certification (CRCST or CSPDT) within 18 months of employment (required) EXPERIENCE :
  • Knowledge of hospital equipment, supplies, surgical instrumentation and medical terminology (required)

  • Ability to appropriately and effectively react to requests for emergency supplies (required)

  • Clear communicator both verbally and written (required)

  • One year of working in Central Sterile Processing (preferred)
