Job Description Serco Inc. is looking to fill a Technical Business Consultant I position at our Reston, VA location.
The roles and responsibilities for the Technical Business Consultant I position include, but are not limited to:
Works as a consulting team member.
Researches federal military benefits and entitlements and those offered by each state and territory.
Drafts information for inclusion and updates for a series of benefit fact sheets.
Performs a variety of complicated tasks, while simultaneously managing multiple projects, suspenses and priorities.
A degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Expertise and work efforts are focused on the government’s goals, objectives, and needs focused on the dissemination of benefits information and the provision of decision support tools in the form of calculators.
Duties may be performed at customer's site.
Makes public presentations and provides appropriate training to a variety of audiences on military benefits, and participates in events supporting military service members and their families.
Familiar with a variety of the military service's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Job assignments may require working at alternate site where working conditions may vary.

Required Skills Requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and at least 2-5 years’ of experience in the U.S. military service, any branch either active or reserve component, or in a related area.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Active Secret clearance is strongly preferred.
Travel may be required, possibly as often as twice per month. Weekend work may be required.
Work is generally performed in a normal office environment where there is minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. Job assignments may require working at client site where working conditions may vary. Travel may be required.

Department Our services in the Defense business unit support all branches of the U.S. military and the intelligence community. Our teams provide a variety of support services related to the maintenance and life cycle sustainment of US Navy, US Coast Guard and Customs and Border Patrol fielded C5I systems. We are focused on the design, systems engineering, project management, procurement, installation, training, testing, and field maintenance of these systems.
