Philips Project Manager in Remote Worker, Ontario

We Challenge you to join Philips as the dedicated Healthcare Construction Manager and an early planning and design advisor for the P3 DBFM of new Hospital projects. As part of the MES team, you will bring extensive experience in the design, build, deliver, install and commission of medical equipment and healthcare facilities, proactively bringing forward suggestions on where Philips can add value in the planning phase prior to doors open to help achieve overall customer objectives.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the construction of new MES projects at customer sites. Plan, direct and monitor projects from initiation through delivery, effectively managing cycle time and inventory. Manage customer relationship to maximize customer satisfaction. Position involves extensive interaction with all levels of management both within Philips and the client organization. Serve as a mediator to internal issues and conflicting priorities for teams focused on the delivery of products to clients. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring on-time project delivery.

The Construction Manager operationally reports to the MES Program Manager.

Job Function:

  • Advise during the design / construction phase of new P3 Hospital project and support the customer directly and coordinate the appropriate Subject Matter Experts to ensure Visions and Goals such as:

  • Review design and tender documents developed to date.

  • Attend design development and discussion meetings and review all design documentation with the P3 design team during the design development process.

  • Provide guidance and confirm all equipment requirements and input during the final design phase.

  • Review and approve all design discussions during final compliance efforts.

  • Attend equipment planning and users workflow meetings that include design, construction, delivery, installation and commissioning of all MES equipment.

  • Provide input and guidance in the form of evaluation criteria to aid the customer as with a focus on the aspects needed to support delivering all MES requirements.

  • Support and coordinate all ICAT integration activities.As requested attend and provide input on the hospital design which will include:

  • Workflow design

  • Technology, system and software design.

  • Integration and communication.

  • Attend any other sessions as required to help achieve the above objectives.

  • Have authority over all aspects of equipment delivery, installation and commissioning during key periods of ME planning and implementation.

  • To liaise with the MES Procurement Manager and Clinical Manager such that the ME specification and configuration, timing of equipment delivery and vendor commissioning support are integrated within the ME purchasing terms and contract.

  • Help manage equipment and contractor compliance with Mackenzie and MES policies.

  • Manage the multiple equipment projects within overall project framework.

  • Acts as an early interface between Philips and the P3 project team identifying individual commissioning complexities and develop a full Project Implementation Plan.

  • Manage all communication and project plans with Mackenzie Health different users’ team, P3 project team, and other partners like Infrastructure Ontario and the ICAT team.

  • Management responsibility for the delivery of all complex Managed Equipment and IT systems / software as directed by the Philips MES Program Manager and required by the project master implementation plan.

  • Proactively bring further suggestions to add value to the planning and design phase prior to doors open to help in achieving the overall objectives for this project.

  • Gather information from the customer needed by Philips MES teams.

  • Coordinate with Philips teams and all MES different vendors to ensure required resources are in place to complete the project.

  • Gather and communicate to the customer information (including site drawings, technical specs, etc.) to answer customer requirements or questions.

  • Keep the customer informed of progress/status of the project within the Philips organization.

  • Monitor progress of the project to key timelines. Work with customer to keep projects on track.

  • Ensure customer site readiness for delivery and installation of MES.

  • Minimize overall project cycle time and inventory and maximized customer satisfaction.

  • Manage other projects within Philips Canada as needed and required. Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated track record of project management skills, preferably with PM certification.

  • 7-10 years related experience within Healthcare with construction, design, and engineering background.

  • Able to understand site and equipment technical requirements (HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental), to include reading of site-specific floor plans, drawings and specifications.

  • Demonstrated experience in effective relationship management with all levels and backgrounds across all departments and organizational levels with ability to instill confidence in all situations. This includes customer management, local project managers and contractors, internal Philips organizations and Philips MES vendors.

  • Able to manage own work and accomplish objectives through others without supervision.

  • Excellent time management, analytical and listening skills.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, customer service and conflict resolution skills.

  • Flexible work style and ability to adapt to customer requirements.

  • Experience with patient monitoring in a healthcare setting, network certification and Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Medical IT healthcare background preferred.

  • Working knowledge of PACS and related information systems with knowledge of various network protocols are preferred.

  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance to peers and customers.

  • Advance user of MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access), VISO, MS-Project and CADs

  • Advanced analytical and effective problem-solving skills.
