create, setup and configure server (physical & virtual) which includes OS installation, patching
Mount and setup of physical server (if any)
Coordinate with other IBM teams for pre-requisites or related activities
Decommission of server (if any)
Participate in meetings and planning sessions to provide technical inputs (if any)
Initiate all service / change requests
Perform problem identification and to rectify it if the problem is due to the server infrastructure i.e. hardware, OS, or system software.
Interact with client and other client third party service providers during the installation, customization, configuration, patching, un-installation, and troubleshooting of third party software/hardware especially for those third party service providers requiring access to the server
Work with the storage administrators to define and perform all necessary storage allocation for the server setup/configurations
Work with network administrator to define and perform network configuration during server setup/configurations
Verify the support infrastructure system requirements are included in the server build, change, or decommissioning, not limited to patch management, alert and monitoring systems, automated schedulers, remote control, endpoint protection, jump servers and centralized logging/SIEM facilities.
Confirm the server security configurations are consistent with the bank's security design requirements
Verify all required access accounts and certificates for the server setup are properly documented, turned-over and secured by client or IBM facility management
Provide documentation including statement of requirements, change details, and method of procedures
Escalate in writing to the relevant authorities for any design risks found or known to IBM
Provide the specific work instructions ( Methods of Procedure - MOP ) as input to the project plan or the service/change requests.
Provide updates and inputs to the assigned client Project Manager regularly based on agreed reporting schedule. Thorough applied technical knowledge of the fundamental concepts and technologies associated with VMWare Systems Support. Capable of performing installation, implementation, customization, operation, recovery and performance tuning.
