Responsible for operations department shift coverage and scheduling.
Assume licensed operator responsibilities and authority of Operations leadership during absences. Assure adequate shift coverage to support all activities during all aspects of plant operation. Plan, schedule, and supervise the administrative/engineering activities and technical specification requirements.
Assist Operations leadership in the annual performance appraisal process. Recommend changes to existing methods, procedures, and processes to improve overall plant and department activities. Review proposed plant changes and recommendations of department personnel for operational impact.
Assist in the preparation, administration, and cognizance of the Operations Department budget and provide periodic budget status. Maintain a Senior Reactor Operator License or Certification. Serve as duty on call Operations Manager level.
Serve as an alternate member of the OSRC, CARB, CRG, SARB, TOC, and TRG. Be thoroughly familiar with the conditions and limitations of the plant operating license and technical specifications and to ensure that these limitations are not exceeded. Undertake reports, instructions, procedures, or missions to improve facility operations.
Terminate any plant activity which could jeopardize personnel safety or safe plant operation. Interface with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station activities.
Participate in the shared resources program.
Minimum education required of the position
B.S. degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with power plant operations.
Minimum experience required of the position
8 years of power plant experience of which a minimum of 3 years must be nuclear power plant experience. A maximum of 2 years of the remaining 5 years of power plant experience may be fulfilled by satisfactory completion of academic or technical training on a one for one basis.

Candidates must meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.1 -1978, except managers required to hold SRO license are specified in Technical Specification (TS). ANSI Section 4.2.2 Operations Manager. Senior Reactor Operator's license. 8 years of responsible power plant experience of which a minimum of three years shall be nuclear power plant experience. A maximum of two years of the remaining five years of power plant experience may be fulfilled by satisfactory completion of academic or related technical training on a one-for-one time basis.
