Summary: The Campus Service Worker is responsible for the overall cleanliness and general upkeep of the campus. Duties:  Empties and cleans waste receptacles, maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming when necessary; perform duties such as dusting and cleaning heating/air conditioning vents/light shades, and recycling.  Perform duties such as stripping, sealing and waxing tile floors in offices and hallways.  Maintaining the cleanliness of carpeted areas by means of commercial carpet cleaning extractors and vacuum cleaners.  Evaluate and clean vestibule, windows and outside walks when needed.  Cleans and maintains custodial equipment when not in use.  Restocks and rotates custodial supplies in designated area.  Cleans, sanitizes, and restocks restrooms daily.  Dusts and polishes all furniture, desks, tables, and cabinets in offices. Education/Knowledge: High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience: Previous institutional housekeeping experience preferred, 6 months. Skills:  Ability to read, write and perform simple mathematical calculations.  Ability to comprehend and follow simple oral and written instructions.  Ability to learn custodial methods, procedures and safety principles.  Working knowledge to operate commercial cleaning equipment.  Ability to learn to operate a computer for inter-office communications as that relates to housekeeping and college operations.  Ability to meet attendance and punctuality requirements.  Ability to work as a team member. Schedule: Monday – Friday, weekends as needed, 11:30 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. Rate of Pay: Classified, non-exempt, full-time, benefits eligible, 37.5 hours per week, $8.97 per hour, pay grade 7.
