About the Job

This role will report directly into the Senior HR Business Partner for UK, Southern Europe, and will work collaboratively with the business leaders in France, Spain and Italy to provide generalist HR support and to ensure the local implementation of the People Strategy.

This role requires a solid background in French employment law, project & change management, and the ability to be flexible by acting as a partner to the business as well as providing a tactical/operational HR service to the client group. The role will be responsible for partnering with the local business leaders, managing any employee relations issues, liaising with Work Councils and Work Inspectors and ensuring compliance with local HR regulatory requirements. It is also responsible for the implementation of all HR processes and programs across respective countries. These include partnering with our internal compensation team on compensation planning and program implementation, assisting in the review and managing the local administration support for local benefits.

About the Team

Despite being a standalone role in country, this role is a key part of the overall EMEA HR team. The EMEA team is a blend of specialists, HR Business Partners and generalists aligned behind an overarching aim in providing the highest level of support to the business.

  • Support and advise managers on the recruitment, induction, attendance, retention, employee relations and employment of appropriately skilled and expert staff to meet business needs.

  • Partner with Line Managers to ensure full compliance with HR, legal and company requirements.

  • Ensure that Line Managers in the region adhere to, are trained and proficient in terms of HR policies and procedures.

  • Ensure all employee relations issues are dealt with in a proactive and effective manner, partnering with Line Managers. This includes conducting disciplinary meetings, termination meetings, reporting work accidents, dealing with Employee and Works Council Representatives.

  • Provide reliable and trusted advice in relation to employment legislation. Liaise with local Employment Lawyers, where appropriate and within budget as approved HR leadership in EMEA.

  • Responsibility for keeping current processes and practices in France, Spain and Italy up to date.

  • Identify and assess HR issues which need to be brought to the attention of the rest of the HR team, and act upon as necessary.

  • Partner with the Internal Mobility team to provide advice on immigration and visa queries as appropriate.

  • Work collaboratively with key internal partners; TA, Compensation & Benefits, Payroll team etc.

  • Act as company representative for any Work Inspection, Union or Worker representative issues.

  • Foster a climate where active listening and constructive conflict resolution are valued.

*Producing and sending out Contracts and other relevant paperwork.

*Personnel filing: maintenance of staff records/upkeep of personnel files/ setting up new personal files, electronic copies/filing staff correspondence.

  • Working closely with Corporate HR, Payroll and IT.

  • Organize and execute the HR New Hire Orientation

  • Execute the HR on-boarding process of new employees.

  • Responsible for all benefits enrolments and ongoing changes/ updates.

Working on benefits administration processes.

  • Administer probation appraisal process.

  • Assist the HRBP team with process work such as employee change forms, internal transfers and promotions

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 to 8 years of HR experience across multiple countries and with leadership responsibility remote from HQ.

  • 4+ years’ experience working in a high-tech company with multiple country responsibilities, including some experience with a U.S. based company.

  • Success in building and implementing HR plans with business leaders and aligning local needs with company-wide programs and processes.

  • Hands on experience in driving local implementation of compensation and benefits programs as well as recruiting across multiple countries.

  • Must be fluent in English and French, a third language (Italian or Spanish) would be desirable.

  • Highly skilled with technology tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc) for developing and providing HR tools to the country leadership.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural organization.

  • Excellent communication, consulting, influencing and presentation skills.

  • Strong team player across HR and with the business.

  • Undergraduate degree required. Advanced degree in related field preferred.
