Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford is the heart and soul of Stanford Children’s Health. Nationally ranked and internationally recognized, our 311-bed hospital is devoted entirely to pediatrics and obstetrics. MyChart team is responsibledevelopment, product design, testing cycles, training, deployment, and post-implementation support of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital’s patient portal MyChart, MD Portal and other mobile applications. MyChart team is responsible not only for creating a platform to allow patients to effectively interact with their providers but also integrate evolving technology to patient experience. Reporting to the Department Manager, the Epic MyChart Applications Analyst III will work independently, with minimal direction, on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various complex factors. Within defined parameters, s/he will exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results for the purpose of managing and planning technology system implementations and enhancements to Epic and other existing technology systems. Responsibilities include designing systems to support defined business requirements and assisting in the implementation of technology systems by leading small project teams. Will develop client specifications, assist with planning and coordinating client testing and training personnel; and provide a formal support turnover to the support services responsible for production support.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for researching, planning, installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining Epic MyChart and other technology systems based upon the workflow analysis. Utilizes analysis by collaborating with end users, other team members and consultants.

  • Ensures the design, configuration and enhancement of software meets the patient care and business needs.

  • Ensures system upgrades are completed per organization policy.

  • Identifies areas for workflow and process improvement. Develops solutions and collaborates with the team and management to implement these solutions.

  • Respond thoroughly and promptly to the needs of end-users, and meets Service Level Agreements as defined in conjunction with our customers. Manages customer relationships and follows issues through to closure.

  • Develops effective relationships with end-users and other team members to enhance the timeliness and effectiveness of technology solutions

  • Supports the technical teams and end-users with project and support activities. Actively participate and communicate with the project teams. Prepare and deliver effective support by seeking a thorough understanding of the team’s goals and objectives.

  • Prepares detailed flow charts and diagrams outlining system capabilities and workflows.

  • Develops training, testing, and security plans to ensure design meets defined business requirements. Coordinate plans as needed.

  • Functions in the role of project manager or project coordinator for small projects. Assures smooth turnover of projects, both at the initiation as well as at the conclusion, to support services within IT as well as in customer departments.

  • Acts as liaison between Clients and IT Department personnel in addressing abnormal operating conditions. This includes opening, updating, and documenting resolutions in the problem management system, as appropriate.

  • Assists in the development of the IT Department’s policies and procedures and recommends to management suggestions for improvement.

  • Provides support for all assigned applications.

  • Remains current in available health care information system applications, business conditions, and trends and the new technology evolving around digital health care.

  • Follows IT standards and policies regarding the use of scheduling tools: E-mail, Voice-mail, On-call, etc.

  • Promotes use of current hardware and software standards.

  • Understands and apply appropriate quality improvement processes.

  • Displays effective verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a work related field/discipline from an accredited college or university

Experience: Seven (7) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
