Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford is the heart and soul of Stanford Children’s Health. Nationally ranked and internationally recognized, our 311-bed hospital is devoted entirely to pediatrics and obstetrics. Our six centers of excellence provide comprehensive services and deep expertise in key obstetric and pediatric areas: brain & behavior, cancer, heart, pregnancy & newborn, pulmonary and transplant. We also provide an additional, wide range of services for babies, kids and pregnant moms.
The Clinical Nurse is responsible for performing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) and delivering safe therapeutic nursing care in consultation/collaboration with interdisciplinary members of the patient care team. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of patients served on the assigned unit(s). Possesses the ability to assess and interpret appropriate data relative to age and to provide nursing care as needed as described in the unit’s policies and procedures: demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span; and possess an understanding of the range of treatments needed by patients.
The Ambulatory Procedure Unit (APU) is committed to providing the highest level of quality care in a cozy family-friendly environmentto pediatric patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures that may require sedation or anesthesia.
The Ambulatory Procedures Nurse is responsible for the care of the patient in surgery. The RN uses the nursing process to care for a limited number of patients, applying their knowledge to safely and therapeutically care for patients. The successful candidate is accountable to the patient care manager and/or assistant patient care manager in the Ambulatory Procedure Unit for providing excellent customer service in alignment with PQMS, performance and professional development guidelines.
Schedule: 80 bi-weekly hours, 8-Hour, rotating shifts.
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program. Prefer BSN.
Experience: Current Operating Room experience required. Scrub and Circulating roles preferred
Licensure/Certification: Current California RN License, Current AHA Healthcare Provider BLS and PALS required
