Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford is the heart and soul of Stanford Children’s Health. Nationally ranked and internationally recognized, our 311-bed hospital is devoted entirely to pediatrics and obstetrics. Our six centers of excellence provide comprehensive services and deep expertise in key obstetric and pediatric areas: brain & behavior, cancer, heart, pregnancy & newborn, pulmonary and transplant. We also provide an additional, wide range of services for babies, kids and pregnant moms.
This position is the strategic partner to the CIO in the development and leadership of a long range strategic data and analytics plan. Serves in the role of Administrative Director- Enterprise Analytics Program, and will be the catalyst for the expansion and execution of the Enterprise Analytics Program. Partners with leaders across the enterprise to develop and maintain the analytics strategy and governance. Responsible for the implementation of enterprise analytics controls and services, and execution of priorities, budgets and agreed upon service levels. Responsible for the selection, implementation, user support, maintenance and training for all data warehousing, analytics, and information delivery for the enterprise. Responsible for recruiting top analytics talent to Stanford Children’s Health.

Works closely with the CIO in the role of enterprise leader for Analytics & Data Sciences, assisting with the following deliverables: strategic and tactical analytics and operations planning, re-establishment of data & analytics governance, establish and enforce a single enterprise service management process, vendor relationships/management/contract negotiations, formalize roles and responsibilities of the analytics support teams in a federated model, and expand scope to meet critical gaps.
Serves as a thought leader in introducing concepts and generating the right types of clinical/operations analytics that allow for optimization of clinical and business operations across Stanford Children’s Health; anticipates future industry trends 3-5 years out
Works with clinical and business leaders across the enterprise to prioritize analytics needs objectively to deliver actionable reporting and analytic tools.
Coordinates, communicates, and presents recommendations on issues associated with clinical and operations data and analytics to executive leadership. Identifies new types/sources of clinical and operations data to drive innovation throughout Stanford Children’s Health.
Works closely with CIO, CMIO, senior leadership and Analytics Steering Committee to develop the Stanford Children’s Health strategic analytics vision and communicate that vision throughout Stanford Children’s Health.
Assesses and oversees a best in class clinical data and analytics/operations infrastructure involving several multidisciplinary teams.
Leads the Stanford Children’s Health effort to leverage analytics towards effective clinical management and operations.
Leads exploration of new data source, data delivery, and analytic solutions that deliver value across Stanford Children’s Health.
Establishes and oversees a framework for data governance and the analytics service model / prioritization that reduces redundancy and facilitates quality controls and data stewardship.
Develops and presents priority recommendations and an annual budget for data and analytics capital and operating investments; recommends, monitors and reports annually on the budget for analytics.
Identifies, develops and recommends specific information systems and communication network applications for implementation throughout the organization; develops and maintains organization-wide project work plans for attaining agreed-to corporate-wide objectives for analytics
Chairs the service management and date governance sub committees
Serves as the point person for coordination with the School of Medicine on research informatics priorities and issues.
Represents Stanford Children’s Health’s analytics program to external audiences and healthcare provider community through presentations, conferences, and publications.
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent experience
Experience: Ten (10) years of progressively responsible and directly related experience;Prior experience overseeing the successful development and delivery of health-related analytics projects, products, and services;Prior experience with large, complex organizational entities such as a multi-location health system environment preferred

Knowledge of new developments and future trends in the areas of information technology and clinical informatics
Ability to build a link to the research mission and collaborate with key stakeholders at the School of Medicine
