HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Graduate Nurse RN - Cardiac Telemetry - StaRN in Overland Park, Kansas

Today’s healthcare organizations face a constant challenge of hiring and retaining competent nurses in a variety of specialties. Local and newly graduated nurses may be plentiful, but most organizations are not equipped to hire and train in the specialty areas where they have the greatest nursing needs. In many cases, new nurse graduates are required to work for years in an area thatis not their preference while waiting to earn seniority and experience to move into their department of choice. You’ve worked hard to become a nurse, why not seize the opportunity for the job you really want!

StaRN—AN INNOVATIVE SOLUTION StaRN (Specialty Training Apprenticeshipfor Registered Nurses) program helps new nurses overcome the catch-22 of not having the experience to work in an acute care environment but who can’t gain that experience without the chance to work. StaRN provides full-time, post-graduate employment and education through comprehensive didactic, hands-on skills training with robust simulation experiences and a clinical preceptorship at the hiring facility, followed by a full-time position at the facility, upon successful completion of the training program. Benefits of Being a StaRN Nurse The StaRN program is based on the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO) core curriculum. Facility specific training initiatives are incorporated as well. In addition to having a full-time position, upon successful completion of the program and relevant exams, you will be BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale and CPI certified. The program will also provide introduction and training to the EMR system for your facility. The StaNR program at HCA Midwest Health is designed for newly Registered Nurses with a desire to work in the areas of Medical-Surgical, Telemetry and ICU/ PCU, providing employment opportunities in specialty units in the acute care hospitals within our market.
