The Health, Safety, Security & Environment Specialist is responsible for providing direction, leadership and guidance on a day to day basis to both the Facility Management and Operational Teams for all matters related to health, safety and the environment.
Ensure compliance to all applicable regulations and standards as well as conformance to internal health and safety programs, processes as well as CBRE`s environmental management system to ensure we meet or exceed ISO 14001 program objectives.
Foster and promote a safety culture
Provide a positive influence to all team members through subject matter expertise
Provide guidance, and direction on all matters related to health, safety and the environment
Act as a resource for all matters related to HSSE. Responsibilities
Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for the Facility Management and Operational teams for all matters related to HSSE. Provide subject matter expertise and guidance and act as a resource person for other service lines, as needed.
Work in partnership with Facility Management, Operations, and Small Works in order to minimize incidents, accidents, occupational issues (e.g. ergonomic etc.), and any/all potential issues that could result in injuries, property damage, risk to client and the general public
Provide technical guidance and advice on all matters related to health, safety and the environment
Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements as well as conformance to all internal programs.
Assist other teams in planning, recognizing, evaluating and mediating risk associated with the day to day activities within the region and project related as requested.
Assist in the development and implementation of strategic solutions that will support management's efforts to improve and maintain compliance as required.
Lead and assist in providing guidance for incident investigations including root cause analysis investigations and lessons learned, as needed.
Lead and support the continual improvement and development of health and safety related programs as well as the internal environmental management system.
Regularly communicate HSSE objectives to all team members
Promotes safety consciousness among employees by providing accurate and informative data, conducting safety meetings, giving timely feedback relating to safety questions and visibly supporting the safety program(s).
Promoting best practices as well as other safety related initiatives
Raise safety awareness and improve safe work practices for all team members
Participate in internal auditing program
Continually promote health and safety to all team members.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in health, safety, and/or environment or a related field from four-year college or university program. Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal, provincial and municipal health and safety, and environmental regulations is essential. Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies and / or compliance officers is preferred.
Experience working in manufacturing, construction, and / or facility maintenance and management is an asset.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Safety Professionals (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are an asset, however candidates without these designations will be considered for the role.

Moderate skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and intranet/internet.
