Dr Pepper Snapple Group Sr Financial Analyst in Ontario, Canada
Purpose Reporting to the Finance Manager – Canada, the senior financial analyst will be supporting the Canadian portfolio of business. This position will provide financial decision support to sales and marketing management teams and provide P&L, volume, trade and marketing spend analyses. Responsibilities also include the coordination and preparation of period forecasts and the annual operating plan. Additional responsibilities include performing analyses of actual-to-budget and year-over-year performance and helping to provide direction in identifying value creating opportunities.
Accountabilities * Coordinate all phases of the financial planning cycle including collection, consolidation, preparation, and maintenance of data, models, and schedules related to the planning cycle. o Coordinate and assist in the annual process for budgeting and forecasting volume, trade and marketing spend SG&A expenses and P&L reporting. o Apply provided budget assumptions and prepare fully grounded Cause of Change explanations. o Assist with identification of key risks and opportunities to the budgets and/or forecasts. o Review and report on trade & marketing costs controlled by the sales banners& brand marketing o Analyze and explain trends not consistent with plan. o Interact with the sales/marketing commercial teams to ensure spend accuracy and to identify potential over / under spend * Provide timely and accurate periodic reporting of actual performance versus planned/forecast expectations and prior period performance. Provide grounded explanations of variances and recommendations, where appropriate, on risks and opportunities to the budget/forecast. Ensure that all budgets and forecasts are accurately input and reconciled in the financial systems. Prepare correcting journal entries to correct any issues identified o Prepare Cost/Benefit Analysis of various programs. o Prepare and review Profitability Analyses (e.g. Customer P&L, New Business Model), communicate results/findings to Finance Manager and commercial team. o Prepare period close reviews with sales and marketing personnel * Manage internal controls and procedures necessary to track and analyze investments. Promote the modification and maintenance of transactional and financial analysis systems through coordination with the IT, shared business services and other finance teams. This includes maintaining the hierarchies for marketing and sales funds and ensuring that all budgets are reconciled on a timely basis. o Coordinate Financial Planning for trade spend and volume using Siebel TPM and HFM, and TM1 o Preparation, maintenance of data, models and schedules relating to the planning cycle as it pertains to volume and spend forecasts. o Analysis of customer, brand, pack size trends and gross contribution margin to help understand and identify changes in the business. * Assist CDM management, Finance and/or Senior Management with decision support on matters related to pricing, funding support and operating profit maximization, innovation, line extensions and brand renovations. * Special projects and ad-hoc requests as requested

- Candidate must be a self-starter, have solid finance and accounting skills and must possess strong leadership and teamwork skills. Additional qualifications include:
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; enrolled in or completed CPA designation (CPA, CMA / CPA, CGA)
- 5 years financial experience with a minimum of 3 years in budgeting and analysis
- Strong analytical and technical skills. Highly proficient in Excel and other MS office applications, ability to model complex business requirements and prepare "what-if" analysis, use of pivot tables, proficiency in SAP, Siebel and Hyperion Financial Management and TM1 a plus
- Previous CPG experience a plus
- Must possess good written and oral communication skills and be able to manage projects across multiple departments with little supervision
Key interfaces/interdependencies: * Extensive interaction with Canadian sales and marketing teams providing input and perspective on budgets and forecasts, actual results and innovations. * Interact and collaborate with counterparts on the other Finance teams.
