Description Utilizes the nursing process as a framework for practice in the care of clients and provides professional client care utilizing the standards of psychiatric and medical nursing care in accordance with the Agency’s policies and procedures. Demonstrate individual professional accountability and responsibility.
Essential Job Functions for LPN: Under the direction and supervision of a licensed practitioner or Registered Nurse: 1. Assesses clients through the collections of the following data: biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self care, education and discharge factors. 2. Develops, monitors, and documents treatment plan with emphasis on Dimensions II & III. 3. Maintains safe and effective nursing care rendered directly or indirectly. 4. Continually monitors and documents the client's response to nursing actions. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. *Reliable attendance is an on-going essential job function
Essential Job Functions for RN: 1. Assesses and establishes treatment objectives based on nursing diagnosis for clients through the collections of the following data: biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self care, education and discharge factors. 2. Develops, monitors, evaluates and documents treatment plan with emphasis on Dimensions II and III. 3. Prescribes nursing interventions to implement the plan of care. 4. Delegates, assigns, and maintains effective and safe nursing care rendered directly or indirectly. 5. Coordinates and provides all required aspects of medication training, direction, monitoring, competency determinations and approved additional activities of medication aides, as needed and in compliance with Nebraska regulations (172 NAC 95). Performs other related duties as assigned by management. *Reliable attendance is an on-going essential job function.
Knowledge and understanding of behavioral issues, e.g. addiction and mental illness;
Knowledge of various billing processes, compliance, regulations, and licensing requirements, i.e. COA, HIPPA, 42 CFR Part II;
Skill in sound decision-making and critical thinking;
Skill in interpersonal relations and verbal and written communication;
Ability to plan, organize, and complete complex projects;
Proficiency with various software, (Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.)
Education and Experience:
1-3 years nursing experience preferred.
Behavioral Health experience a plus. Graduation from nursing program with ability for licensure as a Practical Nurse/ Registered Nurse
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in Nebraska or reciprocal State
CPR for the Health Professional, through the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
