Full-timeTerm position not to exceed 4 years. This position can be extended up to 4 years depending on completion of the project and/or performance.

Work will be performed in an office setting, however, travel to National Parks and study sites is required.

Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid.

All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.


The position is expected to serve as project manager for two or more projects, including site plans, general management plans, and visitor experience resource protection plans. The position will coordinate interdisciplinary project teams and control aspects of scope, cost, schedule and staffing. The position will support other planning projects as need and capacity allow.

Minimum Qualifications:

A.) a degree or advanced degree in community planning or related field that included at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analyses, and development finance


B.) a combination of education and experience—course equivalent to a major in community planning or a related field, or a major in a related field that included at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, and socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

Specialized Experience: In addition to the Minimum Qualifications above, the following is required

For the GS-12*: Applicants must have one year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11*in the Federal Government Service.**

Transcripts-To qualify using education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution which must include your name, school name, credit hours, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking.
