UPMC Licensed Practical Nurse, OP (LPN) - Corrections / Internal & Family Medicine in Oil City, Pennsylvania
The UPMC Community Medicine team is currently hiring for a regular Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse, OP (LPN) to work as a corrections and outpatient practice nurse in Venago County.
This position will work a varying daylight schedule Monday through Friday at the prison in Franklin, PA along with the Family, Internal Medicine, and Specialty practice locations for this group located in Franklin, Oil City, and Seneca, PA.
This position will provide professional nursing care at the prison by dispensing medications and assisting with screenings, and assisting the CRNP and Physician on site.
It will also provide professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers within the office setting as well.
Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
Comply with all policies and procedures.
Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
One (1) year clinical experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Act 33 Child Clearance
Act 34 Criminal Clearance
Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Basic Life Support
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
