Planned Parenthood Northern California (PPNorCal) is currently seeking a part-time Float Clinician II-III to serve our clients at various Health Centers located throughout Marin, Sonoma, Solano, Napa, Contra Costa and San Francisco Counties. The Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwife, and other licensed providers) will function as part of a healthcare team to provide care under the standing orders and medical supervision of the Medical Director in accordance with PPFA and PPNorCal Medical Standards and Guidelines. The Clinician II will report to the Medical Director and Center Director.
This is a non-exempt, part-time position working 24 hours per week that includes evenings as needed. Salary is DOE plus benefits package including Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance, ETO and 403B!

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Work in the health center providing family planning services, medication abortion, STD screening, pregnancy and HIV testing, education and counseling in accordance with physician signed practice protocols.
Perform gynecological exams and procedures and male examinations.
Assure complete and accurate medical documentation.
Utilize knowledge of and experience in client care to:
Obtain a basic health history and comprehensive gynecological (gyn) history.
Perform a general physical exam, gynecological exam, and male exam.
Obtain and interpret basic laboratory tests and results relative to gyn visit.
Recognize common non-gyn deviations from normal and provide management or referral as appropriate.
Recognize common gyn deviations from normal and provide management or referral as appropriate.
Screen for contraindications and special consideration to contraceptive methods.
Provide appropriate hormonal and barrier contraception to clients.
Screen and treat STDs per CDC guidelines.
Diagnose and treat vaginal infection, UTI, and urethritis.
Construct an accurate assessment and plan based on history, exam, and lab findings.
Provide client with general and basic reproductive health maintenance, education and counseling.
Provide medication abortion services
Knowledge/experience with EHR & EPM systems. Knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing software desirable.
Act as a medical resource for center staff.
Participate in health center efforts to achieve established goals for productivity.
Participate in health center/affiliate efforts to achieve established revenue cycle goals.
Successful completion (licensure or certification) of accredited Advanced Practice Clinician program.
Current California NP, PA CNM or other APC license.
Current CPR certificate.
Reliable transportation or automobile transportation with a valid California Driver's License and insurance is required.
Typically zero to three plus years of experience providing reproductive health care services and evidenced clinical competency through an acceptable annual performance review.
Bilingual English/Spanish skillsl highly desirable.
Must demonstrate proficiency in the following skills within six months of employment: Insertion and removal of all IUC devices and contraceptive implant insertion and removal, managing surgical complications and providing medication abortion services.
After one year, must be proficient in the delivery of infertility and transgender services.
Pace: 3 clients per hour.
Direct patient care experience, preferably in women’s health/reproductive health care. Experience in family practice or community health preferred.
Common sense and a commitment to excellent customer service and quality health care.
Commitment to working with low-income and culturally-diverse clients with an emphasis on prevention and empowerment.
Good judgment to serve clients promptly, competently, and in a friendly manner. Treat complaints as opportunities to improve service.
Ability to understand and demonstrate, in all interactions, the importance of high quality care including accurate documenting and follow-up.
Ability to follow affiliate-wide protocols, policies, and procedures, and any center-specific policies and procedures.
Ability to maintain complete client confidentiality at all times.
Ability to be flexible and available to extend/change scheduled hours or location as needed to meet needs of the health center and clients. Willingness to work evening and Saturday hours.
Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to assist team members at all times. Handle communication problems with other staff and managers directly, constructively, and with sensitivity.
Maintain professional image through appropriate dress and manner. Treat other staff and clients with courtesy and respect at all times, under all circumstances.
Ability to work in a busy environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising accuracy, attention to detail, and courtesy and respect to clients and staff.
Ability to communicate effectively, make decisions, solve problems and function as part of a team.
Willingness to promote Planned Parenthood services and goals to clients, friends, and others in the community.
