This role is responsible for the management and execution of the bank’s Commercial Card product suite for external customers and the internal MUFG program. The products include Travel and Entertainment Cards, Procurement Cards, and e-Payables cards. The role will be responsible for managing product development, commercializing the product suite, and managing regulatory changes, product risk, third-party providers, and the operating platform with the objective to increase top line revenue and contribute to net margin of the Transaction Banking business.
Develop and manage the strategic goals of the Commercial Card product line, which includes active sales support with TRMs and relationship managers.
Maintain market awareness regarding the competition, regulatory changes, operating and credit risk, and card fraud while developing and communicating recommendations around the evolving card payments arena.
Oversee and direct the development of new services and products based on the business objectives while managing all required risk and regulatory changes.
Analyze and evaluate new concepts, determine feasibility and market potential; recommend new strategies to enhance and improve MUFG Union Bank’s competitive position.
Advise management of potential new product capabilities through preparation of strategy presentations, which define markets, product design, profitability, operating expenditures and capitalization.
Maintain awareness and present to management through presentation of proposals, which analyze customer need, pricing/cost, and internal/external technology and procedures needed to effect change.
Manage Card sales specialist to work with TRMs and RMs to identify prospects, pipeline management, respond to RFPs, coordinate contract language and establish pricing.
Manage the Card implementation program in consultation with customers and for the internal program MUFG ESM (Enterprise Spend Management).
Manage the Card Relationship by serving as the primary contact for client Program Administrators and senior client personnel, while developing client portfolio metrics and growth plans.
Determine cost effectiveness and compliance with credit, audit procedures and legal requirements.
Leverage solutions across multiple markets to improve time to market; create a consistent customer experience and manage delivery cost.
Educate and manage fraud filters to prevent and limit transaction losses.
Typically requires B.A. or B.S. or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.
7-12 years of technical experience and management experience with Commercial Card products selling to the Wholesale Corporate and Commercial Banking segments.
Experience defining and managing new products, services and enhancements both payable and receivable products.
Strong understanding of fraud prevention solutions.
Strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills, and matrix management skills.
Strong strategic and project planning with an execution track record.
Financial Services preferred, but not required.
Actively ensure compliance with all rules and regulations including Patriot Act, CIP requirements, and other applicable regulatory and compliance policies and procedures.
