/ Major Responsibilities: /
May specialize in litigation, securities, operations commercial credit/workouts or other Legal Division practice areas. Under the general direction of an attorney, draft legal documents and correspondence, perform legal research and compile and organize documentation for routine and non-routine legal matters appropriate for the specialty area of expertise:
Under the general supervision of an attorney, as appropriate to specialty area: Draft and/or review standard agreements, contracts, or other legal instruments; draft routine pleadings, statements, affidavits, and/or other litigation-related documents, as appropriate
Compile and organize documentation for routine and non-routine legal matters by gathering information from a variety of available sources. This may include gathering, organizing and analyzing documents for document productions and responses to subpoenas, including categorizing documents by subject; preparing a chronology of facts; making charts; performing calculations and statistical analyses; reviewing transcripts for specific references, number-stamping, redacting, photocopying and indexing of documents, checking copies, setting up and maintaining files, stripping files at the close of a case and preparing them for off-site storage
Communicate information to clients regarding legal issues relating to clients' matters being handled by in-house counsel. Obtain information from clients' and outside counsel, including opposing counsel. Conduct routine and non-routine legal and factual information research and data compilation, as requested by attorneys.
May provide paralegal assistance to outside counsel involved in Bank litigation, administrative, or other matters. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of legal principles and concepts in legal area of expertise, including legal vocabulary, documents, and research resources; knowledge of legal documents used in area of expertise; knowledge of current and developing legal issues and trends in area of expertise
Demonstrated ability to gather and organize legal materials
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work effectively with clients and outside counsel
Ability to work under time constraints and deadlines; prioritize and work on numerous projects simultaneously, and to handle matters in the strictest confidence.
