This function provides HR support to a major business unit by providing full generalist support. This includes working with specialist HR teams, management of employee relations issues (either directly or in conjunction with the specialist employee relations team), implementation of effective people management strategies and ensuring that firm policies and procedures are adhered to across the business area. Incumbent at this level is fully knowledgeable on the day-to-day activities of a product or process however will require input on more complex issues. This individual may have oversight of a small team of junior staff to ensure all daily responsibilities are completed. Individual at this level has some understanding of the firm's different businesses and the related economics.
Understand business models and collaborate with departments to promote strategic business objectives.
Collaborate with business lines in evaluation and review of compensation and performance, including:
o Mid-year Review
o Annual Performance Evaluation and Compensation Analysis
o Off-Cycle salary increases
- Support business lines in strategy and processing of recruitment:
o Requisition approval
o Agency selection
o Job Posting/Referral Programs
o Final candidate selection
o Needs assessment of Bank-sponsored work visas
Counsel employees/managers and maintain documentation in employee relation issues, conduct investigations.
Support business lines in the strategy and processing of employee terminations:
o Position eliminations
- Assist department on special projects as assigned
o Summer Internship program and related initiatives at the Bank
- Additional functions:
o Collaborate with business lines on evaluation of workers compensation claims
o Coordinate with Legal Department and Workday on creation of strategy for unemployment hearings
Minimum of 7 years exempt-level HR Generalist experience.
Ability to multi-task and change priorities quickly.
Excellent communication & negotiation skills across all organizational levels.
Basic excel, PowerPoint, and word skills.
