Data and Enterprise Content Management, Managing Director

Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Business IT, partners with the Chief Data Officer to manage data and enterprise content management infrastructure to enable the businesses meet their strategic, tactical and operational goals. Responsible for fostering an environment of collaboration and teamwork between technology and the Chief Data Officer to ensure most appropriate and effective service delivery meets and exceeds our customer and partner expectations. Perform duties of Senior Technical Leader, which may include multiple Sr. Systems Development and Delivery Managers. Meets with high-level management team regularly to ensure technical requests for the business are prioritized to match expectations and needs of business unit senior management. Provides consultation and is collaborative in working to provide solutions. This individual will develop new policies and procedures to improve the effectiveness and performance of their department. Organizes for an effective structure, establishes criteria to measure department performance and the standard personnel functions associated with managerial responsibility.


  • Partner with Chief Data Officer and Business as necessary to execute against the data strategy

  • Responsible for the development of a strategy, policies and processes related Data and Enterprise Content Management

  • Reviews and approves project plans and monitors work progress. Approves final packages to ensure systems adhere to corporate policies, practices and data and content management standards

  • Assesses the impact of new application systems, technology, processes, and priority changes on contingency plan. This role will be responsible for analyzing exposure/risk/vulnerability of data applications and enterprise content management strategies

  • Responsible for developing the long-range strategic plan by defining organizational goals and objectives, identifying the attributes and long-term needs of customer/user groups, evaluating market opportunities and threats, evaluating the capability and long-term viability of processes

  • Investigates and develops resolution of complex business or project issues, including analysis, solution facilitation and development, approval, management communication, and implementation

  • Responsible for developing goals and objectives for staff. Will determine the most effective organization structure and specific responsibilities within that structure. Will perform the standard managerial functions such as performance appraisals, salary increases, transfers, promotions, new hires and terminations of staff members as needed. This role will also establish criteria to measure group perform


  • Knowledge of Data Management technology at a senior level, including data warehousing, data lake and data reservoir. Knowledge of Cloud, paperless environment, GreenPlum, WhereScape, and/or Informatica

  • Experience in managing enterprise content technology with knowledge of repositories such as FileNet, P8, SharePoint, CMOD; workflow tools such as Case Manager, web methods; and document viewers such as Content Navigator

  • Requires excellent communication and consultative skills as well as seasoned judgment, tact and the ability to work effectively with clients and other IT management managerial personnel

  • Executive presence and ability to interact with C-level executives on a global basis

  • Must be able to build a strong technology strategy

  • Must be able to understand the impact of technology trends on the bank's current data and enterprise content management capabilities

  • Knowledge of regulations and laws governing data and content management

  • Strong knowledge of the inherent risks associated with current data and content management practices

  • Proven record of influencing and driving change

  • Strong ability to build and lead high performance teams

  • Ability to recognize a crisis when it happens and know how to lead in a crisis

  • Understand complex business problems

  • Ability to inspire and motivate others

  • Ability to educate peers and stakeholders on the value of IT

  • Education: At least 10-15 years direct experience in managing staff or directing data project teams or equivalent combination of education (Advanced degree in Computer Science and work experience in assigned area)

  • Experience: Program management experience, including management of multiple projects, multiple program work streams, or multiple PMs in a program office environment is desired. Direct experience in business analysis, project leadership, and management skills is required

  • Certifications: IT Audit, Security, Governance, Risk is preferred
