Who we're looking for

Toyota's Cost Management Department is looking for a highly motivated and qualified Specialist.

The primary responsibility of this role is to plan and lead the budget process and monthly analysis of shop costs.

Reporting to the Assistant Manager the person in this role will support the Cost Management department's objective to have an active role in supporting production departments in cost reduction activities.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop responsible departments' operating budget strategies and process

  • Manage and analyze department spending and communicate to department cost leads monthly and as needed

  • Develop and prepare monthly reporting for each responsible department

  • Visualize department cost reduction and budget versus actual each month

  • Work closely with department team members related to cost reduction activities

  • Support department cost reduction activities as needed

  • Responsible for participating in semi-annual physical inventory

  • Lead labor cost projects as assigned

  • Assist departments projects related to cost management

  • Assist departments with creation of operating ringis (budget request document)

  • Assist departments with understanding cost conditions monthly

  • Control spending daily through budget and requisition review

  • Complete ongoing Toyota Business Practice (TBP) problem solving on abnormal issues or problems

  • Look for and implement continuous improvements whenever possible

  • Develop strategies and plans in order to achieve cost reduction targets in responsible shops

  • Support monthly reforecasting of costs in order to help drive business decisions

What you bring:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience

  • Microsoft Excel experience

  • Project management experience (experience managing own time; taking initiative; managing targets & deadlines; managing schedules etc.)

  • Accounting experience

Added bonus if you have:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance

  • MBA or CPA/CMA

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Toyota manufacturing experience
