Term employment is an employment status in which the Bank hires an individual for a designated period of time, not exceeding 2 years. The term employee can perform any job function within the Bank, receiving all the benefits of a regular status employee, except separation pay programs, merit increases, job posting capabilities or holding a corporate title. We are looking for a qualified candidate to work in our Cash Vault department as a Cash Vault Teller for a period of 1 year not to exceed 2 years.

Job Summary:

The Cash Vault Specialist is utilized in many teller functions and has the ability, knowledge and skills to be assigned where needed. Assists with customer service calls and accounting and control issues with minimal supervision. This position works alongside Work Directors, as needed, to distribute work equitably and provide direction to staff. Functions as a lead teller in areas that operate without Work Directors and provides coverage as a teller as needed. In order to maintain an appropriate segregation of duties this position may not assist as a teller if assigned to perform difference research utilizing video surveillance equipment. The Cash Vault Specialist position is expected to meet the following requirements: 1. Expert in one teller function with the ability to resolve moderate to complex issues with minimal to no direction. Major Responsibilities: 1. May be assigned to provide assistance in all areas of Commercial Cash Services as needed including but not limited to: Report completion and activity tracking duties, deposit processing/verification, deposit reconcilement, bond coupon processing, foreign currency processing, food stamp processing, Receiving, main vault and Shipping. 2. Performs secondary verification of differences within established thresholds and in accordance with stipulated procedures. 3. Reviews and approves teller-generated paperwork, balance sheets, computer reports, and other necessary reports. 4. Provides technical assistance and direction to staff with the completion of more complex job functions. 5. Manages idle time efficiently by responding to teller calls promptly and monitoring teller activity by maintaining a constant presence in the work area. 6. Assists with regularly monitoring functions to ensure workflow is distributed timely and equitably to the teller staff. 7. Answers inquiries from banking departments, customers, and vendors and provides the necessary information and customer service in a clear, understandable and timely manner. 8. Understands and creates appropriate general ledger entries necessary for the work area. 9. Performs more complex teller computations as needed for the work area. This may include activities associated with the Bond/Coupon department and/or the Foreign Currency department as well as reconcilement. 10. Performs all tasks associated with counterfeit reporting such as note collection, assigning sequence numbers, logging for tracking purposes, creating counterfeit reports and packaging notes for delivery to the Secret Service. Maintains counterfeit notes in a secure location. 11. May input differences found during verification and generate Error Notices for Customers. 12. Distributes unverified currency and coin to tellers as directed. Maintains proper custody and control until received by the appropriate personnel. 13. Double-verifies teller generated paperwork, teller transfers, and balance sheets for completeness, proper signatures, and in-balance condition prior to accepting or releasing currency and coin. 14. Instructs employees regarding the proper usage of the automated cash settlement system, deposit processing, deposit verification, and other teller functions. 15. Assists with all aspects of workflow direction, recording of items distributed, and the balancing of all items processed to the appropriate documentation. 16. Delegates teller assignments as directed by management, coordinates carrier pick-ups and deliveries, and interacts with carrier personnel. 17. Acts as a joint custodian in the Commercial Cash area. 18. Maintains own work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner, including disposing of trash in the appropriate retention area. Re-inspect others work areas as needed. 19. Other duties as assigned. Cash Vault Research Clerk ' Responsible for the following in addition to a portion of the above mentioned duties: 1. Performs extensive research on teller differences within the threshold for research by review tapes, inspecting trash and using the surveillance system. 2. Provides written post research reports to Management and assigns unresolved differences within the established thresholds to defaulting tellers. 3. Provides feedback to Management on procedural deviations and errors found during research that impact quality. 4. Works closely with the General Ledger Group to provide status and percentage completion information on ongoing research. 5. Performs random checks of stored verification documentation for thoroughness.

Additional Information:

This position typically requires a minimum of three years of cash vault or related experience. Receives minimal supervision in regard to daily work duties. High School Diploma or equivalent Skills & Abilities Requirements Communication. Ability to listen and communicate effectively and understand policies and procedures and assist with passing related information on to other tellers. Possess good customer service skills with ability to communicate clearly to clients. Physical ability to perform repetitive movements, sit, stand, walk and bend for extended periods of time to carry out essential job duties. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and pull/push carts weighing up to 2500 pounds. Technical ability to accurately operate and perform non-complex math using 10-key equipment by touch to balance transactions. Ability to effectively train new employees in accordance with Commercial Cash Services (CCS) Policies and Procedures. Possess strong mathematical skills. Possess prior cash handling experience. Posses a thorough knowledge of transaction processing to enable the effective troubleshooting of out of balance situations and resolution of issues with minimal intervention. Possess strong working knowledge of departmental policies and procedures. Possess thorough knowledge of teller equipment and equipment specific to other teller functions. Possess basic PC knowledge and ability to perform data input using a computer. Ability to adapt to automation initiatives. General ability to work independently and as a team player in a deadline oriented production environment. Ability to work in an enclosed high security setting with exposure to production noise levels. Ability to work overtime as required during regularly scheduled workdays and on weekends. The ability to work on holidays is also required. Ability to pay close attention to detail and concentrate on work. Ability to assess situations as they arise and move from function to function with minimal supervision and disruption to the operation.
